Virgin Money Giving (VGM) will soon be closing its doors to charities and fundraisers. The website will be open until midnight on 30th November 2021 when they will stop accepting donations. From 1st December until 18th February 2022, VGM will keep claiming Gift Aid on all relevant donations and pay it out in the usual way. We're emailing all our regular donors who use VGM to make recurring donations with instructions how to use CAF Donate shortly.
We're sad to see the closure of VGM having moved to the platform after BT announced the closure of their MyDonate service a couple of years ago. We had used MyDonate for more than 5 years. When they announced its plan to close the service we looked far and wide for a new provider, settling in the end for VGM. We've now settled in to our new home at CAF Donate, which is run by the Charities Aid Foundation who we also bank with via Car Bank Ltd. It's all under one roof now which can't be a bad thing! Anyway, CAF Donate is already generating income with donations coming through which is great considering what everyone has been going through over the last 20 months or so. We've had our own ups and downs and downs and more downs! Things have picked up though and we are beginning to get very busy again which is great. The busier we are the more beneficiaries we are reaching and helping! And we can stay busy with your help, with the help of grants, sponsorship and the help and support of all our charity's friends. Below is our CAF Donate Campaign widget through which you can make a single or set up a recurring donation. It is with a very heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our friend and Songwriting Charity patron Rupert Hine.
Rupert was quite simply an inspirational human. A hero. As a songwriter, musician and producer his ability to draw out the best in people culminated in hundreds and hundreds of hit albums over a career spanning more than 50 years, always striving in his own words to ‘paint pictures with sound’. He loved technology and was always ahead of the game putting artists and creators first - co founding OCL and developing tech that rewards creators fairly for their hard work and talent. We have been fortunate to know you Rupert and call you a friend. Thank you for believing in all of us here at the Songwriting Charity and for your love and support over the years. We have such wonderful memories that we will always hold close to our hearts. We'll miss you dearly. Our thoughts are with his wife Fay, his son Kingsley and his many friends all over the world. |
